On Monday, seven-year-old Faijan, a Bihar boy had a fall from a mango tree and fractured his left hand. He was taken to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with a broken left arm for urgent treatment. But the negligent doctors cast the plaster on his right arm instead of his fractured arm.

This is a shocking case of medical negligence which came to light on Wednesday from the biggest government hospital in Bihars Darbhanga.

Faijan said he tried to tell the doctors that they were putting plaster on the wrong hand but the doctors ignored his saying and cast plaster on wrong hand.

This negligence happened despite the X-ray clearly showed that the boys left arm had a fracture. Also, the prescription by a doctor said that it was the boys left arm that was fractured.

Faizans mother said that, this is utter negligence. They were not even provided with a single tablet by the hospital. She demanded an investigation to be done in this matter.

Faizans family had complained to hospital superintendent Raj Ranjan Prasad, who saw the child and admitted the mistake. He took full responsibility for the incident and will sought clarification from every person who was involved in this wrong treatment.

The hospital administration also guaranteed the family that the hospital would take action against the people responsible for the gross negligence. They also said that they have sought an answer from the states health minister Mangal Pandey.
